We will be able to check in on Thursday the 7 th of July and check out on Monday, July 11 th.  The contract cost is $79 plus 13% tax and a $1 occupancy charge per day. There is also a daily $10 fee for parking.   You will need to make reservations early to assure this price.   New Orleans hotels are very expensive.

The Pontchartrain is a lovely historic hotel in the lower Garden District at the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Josephine Street.   Five gas light standards line the hotel along the sidewalk -- duplicating the ones in the Place Vendome in Paris.

It is located 2 miles from the French Quarter and 14 miles from the New Orleans International Airport with access to Interstate 10

You really don’t need a car to get around the city, as the streetcar to the French Quarter and area attractions stops directly in front of the Pontchartrain and runs about every 20 minutes.   It also passes within a block or so of the National D-Day museum and crosses the Canal Street line which goes to the riverfront and the Aquarium. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to the convention center and downtown New Orleans.  There is no shuttle service to the airport.

Our reunion dinner will be at the hotel on Saturday July 9 th.   This year we will have a sit-down dinner featuring Cajun roast beef.   If you do not eat red meat, Chicken can be arranged ahead of time (see registration sheet).
