Dear schoolmates and friends:

Here is an update on the upcoming Academy La Castellana/Colegio Americano/Escuela Campo Alegre school reunion.

We have had a terrific response and this reunion promises to be the best one yet, and if you have attended the previous ones you know how much fun was had then.

For those of you that have not decided yet, here's an idea: Think of a wonderful Ft. Lauderdale beach vacation at an oceanfront world-famous resort, The Sheraton Yankee Clipper.

On top of that you will be able to see some of your classmates and best friends from our wonderful years together in Caracas.

Don't you remember the friendships, the boyfriends, girlfriends, the parties, the magical times we all enjoyed back then? This weekend in July will give you the opportunity to relive some of those wonderful memories while reminiscing with your dear schoolmates.

You may arrive a few days before the start of the reunion, or stay for a few days after and make a longer summer vacation of it.

The Sheraton Yankee Clipper is situated right on the ocean and is but a couple of blocks from some of the great party spots in Ft. Lauderdale. It is also just a short walk from Beach Place, a great shopping and dining destination which is right across the street from the beach.

The list of confirmed attendees changes constantly, but I can tell you the names of those who have committed to come, along with those that are thinking of coming but have yet to confirm. I am sure that you will identify quite a few of your schoolmates from this list.

Following are the full details of the reunion once more:


The alumni associations, (mostly 1960s and 1970s graduates), of Academy La Castellana, Colegio Americano and Escuela Campo Alegre and Escuela Campo Alegre are holding a school reunion this upcoming July 25th through the 27th at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Although this reunion is open to alumni from all three schools, it is being organized by Campo Alegre alumni, in particular by Karen Kitchen Purtell, (Karn952@aol.com) and Steve Leonard, (sgleonard@adelphis.net).

It is going to be a fun-filled weekend where you will be able to reminisce with your Junior and Senior High School classmates from our good old days in Caracas, Venezuela.

We already have received confirmations from a great number of alumni from all three schools.

Greetings Everyone!

As most everyone knows by now, we are having the 2nd. ALC/CA/ECA Reunion the weekend of July 25-27, 2003. The location is the Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel and Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. , approximately 10 minutes east of the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport.

This reunion is being organized by Escuela Campo Alegre alumni, but is open to Academy La Castellana and Colegio Americano alumni as well.

Following is the general information for the event:

Date: Friday, July 25 through Sunday July 27, 2003
Location: Yankee Clipper Hotel and Resort, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Hotel Reservations: Each alumnus will be required to call the resort and make their own reservations for the weekend.

We have arranged the following special rates:

Room with area view- $ 89.00/night,

Room with partial ocean view-$ 99.00/night,

Room with full ocean view- $109.00/night, plus applicable taxes.

Travel Reservations: If arriving by air, please make your own arrangements for arriving at the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport the afternoon of July 25.

Hotel Transport: The Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel and Resort is only 4 miles from Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Intnl.Airport.

The cost of the taxi ride to the hotel from the airport is between $ 10.00-12.00.

If you fly into Miami Intnl. Airport, the ride takes about 45 minutes, taking I-95 North to Ft. Lauderdale.

>From West Palm Beach Intl. Airport, the ride is about 50 minutes, taking I-95 South.

Events:

The first will be a Friday evening poolside reception from 7-10 PM.

The second is a buffet dinner Saturday evening at the resort.

The "Class Fee" includes the cost of the reception and dinner for the alumni plus additional organizational expenses. Additional dinners can be bought for accompanying family members. See the form below.

Class Fee: A "Class Fee" of $ 200.00 per alumnus will be charged to cover the following expenses:

1.- Friday evening Poolside reception
2.- 1 Saturday evening Dinner ticket
3.- Misc. organizational expenses

This fee should be sent to your Class representative as soon as possible as we must advise the hotel ahead of time how many alumni will be attending.

At the end of this announcement you will find a form which should be printed out and sent along with the payment. In this form you can also add additional persons to the list for the Friday and Saturday events.

Procedure:

1.-Call the Yankee Clipper Hotel - Tel 1-800-958-5551 and make your room reservation for the weekend. Be sure to mention that you will be attending the 'ECA Reunion', (the deal with the hotel was made under Escuela Campo Alegre). We have a limited number of rooms available at these rates so please make your reservations as soon as possible. Your reservation will be held with a credit card and the charge will only be posted that weekend.

2- Call and make your airline reservations. Try to arrive into the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport in the early afternoon of July 25.

3-Print, fill out and send the form at the end of this letter and attach a check for the total amount made out in the name of Escuela Campo Alegre Reunion, (this is the name under which the bank account has been opened) and send same to:
