Air Flights - Car Rental

While looking into flights, consider flying into Phoenix and driving a rental car to Tucson, as that may be a cheaper option. It is 110 miles down I-10 to the exit for the hotel in Tucson. If you are flying into either Phoenix or Tucson and using a rental car, please advise Fred so he can give you detailed directions to the hotel when he acknowledges your registration. The hotel is about a 45 minute drive from the Tucson airport and Taxi fare will run you around $50 dollars each way ($2.00 plus $1.75 per mile). The least expensive way of getting to the hotel from the Tucson airport is to follow the “Shared Ride Vans” signs in the airport to the Arizona Stagecoach counter. It is located in the center of the baggage claim area. Their rate is a flat $40.00 one way or $70.00 if one arranges a round trip and schedules the return at that time.

Saturday Night: Saturday evening there will be the usual dinner at the hotel.   There will be information on other activities available to you both on and off the hotel grounds upon your arrival.

Sunday Excursion:
Fred has arranged an interesting bus excursion for Sunday. A minimum of 30 people are needed with a maximum of 55, so if you are interested, sign up early! Cost is listed on the application. This all day trip will include a bus drive to Tombstone and Bisbee with a late lunch at a historic hotel in Bisbee. Tombstone is the home of the OK Corral, Wyatt Earp and the Clanton brothers, the Bird Cage Saloon and Boot Hill Cemetery. It is known as the town too tough to die! Bisbee is a historic copper mining town with a huge open pit mine, (now closed). It has many arts and crafts shops and as well as preserved Victorian style homes clinging to the sides of the canyon.
